Hear from others how Special Camp has touched their lives...
My family's experience with "Special Camp", has been one of the most caring, most professional, and well organized that we experienced any where. So much that we are returning after moving to San Diego County. I will never forget my son's five days at this camp; these were probably the happiest days of his life, not only he felt included; he had the opportunity to interact, share, laugh, had fun, and meet young people that he wouldn't have the chance to meet otherwise.

The Special Camp crew are incredible people and Jimmy looks so forward to the week each year. Thank you for giving our son the chance to be like other kids and have a blast at camp!

The Special Camp for Special Kids is a unique and amazing experience for kids with difficulties. I can speak about our experience with the program first hand because of my son's participation last year. I can say without a doubt it helped our child grow and overcome some issues in a short time that we have been working on for years. In just one week, we noticed a remarkable change in his confidence and growth in area's of social connect. These group type functions seems to stimulate James in ways we cannot reproduce in the family alone. It is a remarkable program. One that I wish could be duplicated and offered to all children suffering from these types of disabilities. Every day James arrived home excited about his day and looking forward to the next.
Last year on a particularly hot day, I made the comment I was so hot I thought I would die. Carolyn gave me a horrified look and excaimed, "If you die who will take me to Special Camp?!!" Before I could explain my statement she came up her own answer--"Erika will take me." As you can tell camp is one of the highlights of our year. Carolyn would not be able to go to camp without your program. Your loving acceptance of all the campers is a blessing to all of us. I have always been impressed with the organization and dedication of the staff and amazed that everything is done by high school and college volunteers and staff (except for the nursing staff). I only wish camp could happen forever and no camper would be turned away for lack of space or because they were too old. We love Special Camp.
If we were to plan a dream week for our son Mark,
it would include
horseback riding, an Angels baseball game, a day at the beach, bowling,
Knotts Berry Farm, and Chuck E. Cheese. And he gets to do all of these at
