  • Mitchell Allison, Development Coordinator

    Mitchell has been involved with Special Camp for four years, serving two years as a Counselor and two years on the Support Staff. He loves the lifelong connections that Special Camp creates and believes the friendships built at camp extend far beyond a single week. His favorite camp activity is spending time on the sports field, especially during water balloon games, when campers and counselors can run around, laugh, and enjoy the fun together. Outside of camp, Mitchell plays soccer at both the club and collegiate levels and enjoys spending time with friends and making the most of every moment.

  • Ellie Kosoff, Camper Coordinator

    Ellie has been a Special Camp Counselor for the past two summers. She loves the positive, welcoming environment camp creates and enjoys seeing the genuine connections that develop between campers and counselors. The kindness and energy that everyone brings to camp make it a truly special place for her. Ellie’s favorite camp activity is Knott’s Berry Farm because there is something for everyone to enjoy. She loves seeing campers laugh, make memories, and have fun together throughout the day. Outside of camp, Ellie plays both high school and club soccer and is a member of the National Charity League. She also enjoys going to the beach, reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family.

  • Mason Allison, Counselor Coordinator

    Mason has been part of Special Camp for four years, serving as both a Counselor and a member of the Support Staff. He loves the opportunity that camp provides to create lasting memories and build amazing friendships throughout each summer. His favorite camp activity is the Talent Show because it gives campers the chance to showcase their passions and talents while receiving support and encouragement from the entire camp community. Outside of camp, Mason likes to play soccer, football, and track and field.

  • Gavin Taylor, Asst. Camper Coordinator

    Gavin has been a part of Special Camp for the past two years, serving as a counselor each summer. He cherishes the unforgettable experiences and lasting memories that Special Camp creates. One of his favorite aspects of camp is watching the bonds between campers and counselors grow throughout the week and seeing the positive impact those relationships have on both the camper as well as the counselor. Gavin’s favorite camp activity is Knott’s Berry Farm, where he loves seeing campers enjoy the rides and make memories at the park. Outside of camp, Gavin enjoys playing football, soccer, and golf. He also loves photography, hiking, skiing, and pickleball.

  • Ali James, Asst. Counselor Coordinator

    Ali has been part of Special Camp for three years, serving as both a Counselor and a member of the Support Staff. She loves the incredible experiences and lifelong memories camp has given her and says Special Camp is where she feels most like herself. One of her favorite parts of camp is watching the meaningful friendships that form between campers and counselors throughout the summer. Ali’s favorite camp activity is Beach Day because she loves spending time in the water and seeing the excitement on the faces of campers who love the ocean. Outside of camp, Ali enjoys spending time with friends, playing tennis, and creating pottery.

  • Beau Chiasson, Special Events Coordinator

    Beau has been involved with Special Camp for four years, serving as both a Counselor and a member of the Support Staff. What he loves most about camp is the opportunity to simply be there for another person, to be a friend, a supporter, and someone who helps make another person’s day brighter. His favorite camp activity is the Talent Show because it allows campers to shine in front of a supportive audience. Seeing a camper’s face light up after performing and hearing the cheers from the camp community is a highlight of every session. Outside of camp, Beau is a composer and current fellow with the LA Phil. He is also a cross-country and track athlete, volunteers in a UCLA stem cell research lab studying Cystic Fibrosis, performs as a drummer in a jazz, funk, and R&B band, creates films with friends, and hosts a charity concert to benefit Special Camp.

  • Sloane Johnson, Relations Coordinator

    Sloane has spent three summers as a Special Camp Counselor. She loves the welcoming, inclusive, and joyful environment that camp creates and finds it incredibly rewarding to watch campers thrive within such a supportive community. Her favorite camp activity is Knott’s Berry Farm because she loves seeing campers light up when they get to experience their favorite rides and attractions. Outside of camp, Sloane enjoys playing tennis, spending time with friends, and expressing her creativity through art, whether working with clay or drawing.
